Tiger Woods crashes =Hospital

Keeping in the theme of this thread...before we got side tracked into the plight of the midnight shift aviation mechanic, the following from the Tiger Woods camp;

Below is the complete statement from Tiger Woods, released Sunday afternoon on TigerWoods.com:

>>>

As you all know, I had a single-car accident earlier this week, and sustained some injuries. I have some cuts, bruising and right now I'm pretty sore.

This situation is my fault, and it's obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I'm human and I'm not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn't happen again.

This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way. Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible.

The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false.

This incident has been stressful and very difficult for Elin, our family and me. I appreciate all the concern and well wishes that we have received. But, I would also ask for some understanding that my family and I deserve some privacy no matter how intrusive some people can be.<<<

My post was just to point out that it took me a long time to sleep through the night after being on OZ time for exactly the same amount of time that Tiger had. The follow-up was to make it clear that it wasn't just working a flight for just a few days.

Any interruption to one's circadian rhythm isn't easy.

Valid point inchman. Perhaps Tiger was in the same state.

I hear Elin had to use a rescue club. biggrin.gif

Tiger made a poor choice. He should have used a driver.

Tiger Woods is so rich that he owns lots of expensive cars. Now he has a hole in one.

What's the difference between a car and a golf ball? Tiger can drive a ball 400 yards.

I hear Tiger's wife has improved his game. She made him a true scratch golfer.

How can Tiger Woods be the world's best golfer? He couldn't even avoid a water hazard that was right in front of him.

What were Tiger Woods and his wife doing out at 2.30 in the morning? They went clubbing.

I'm not surprised Tiger's feeling a little below par this morning.

He was trying too hard for a birdie.

Obstruction of Justice and purgery are far more serious crimes than those that may be under current investigation. Pretty clear that the Woods camp are 'lawyered up'. A spouse cannot be compelled to testify against another spouse so it will be difficult to gather any evidence of either assault or DUI (painkillers) unless there is an independant source for that info.

Hey Tiger - welcome to wedded bliss biggrin.gif

That's what happens when you get accused of not keeping your pants zipped. True or not, in those cases it's usually guilty until proven innocent, and the innocence is very hard to prove when the alleged "third party" says you're guilty.

Just Human after all

Tiger, Tiger, Tiger. You may be good at golf, but off the course? We're not so sure. The fallout from his silly little car accident continues this morning with further allegations of illicit extramarital affairs.

The latest claims come from Jaimee Grubbs, a 24-year-old cockail waitress in California. This morning, US Magazine released a voicemail recording that is purportedly Woods pleading with Grubbs to change the name that pops up on callers' phones when she dials:

"I need you to do me a huge favor. Can you please take your name off your phone? My wife went through my phone and may be calling you. So if you can, please take your name off that. Just have it as a number on the voicemail. You got to do this for me. Huge. Quickly. Bye."

Within hours, the famously private golfer issued a lengthy statement on his website, saying:

"I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.

Although I am a well-known person and have made my career as a professional athlete, I have been dismayed to realize the full extent of what tabloid scrutiny really means. For the last week, my family and I have been hounded to expose intimate details of our personal lives. The stories in particular that physical violence played any role in the car accident were utterly false and malicious. Elin has always done more to support our family and shown more grace than anyone could possibly expect.

But no matter how intense curiosity about public figures can be, there is an important and deep principle at stake which is the right to some simple, human measure of privacy. I realize there are some who don't share my view on that. But for me, the virtue of privacy is one that must be protected in matters that are intimate and within one's own family. Personal sins should not require press releases and problems within a family shouldn't have to mean public confessions.

Whatever regrets I have about letting my family down have been shared with and felt by us alone. I have given this a lot of reflection and thought and I believe that there is a point at which I must stick to that principle even though it's difficult.

I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves. For all of those who have supported me over the years, I offer my profound apology."

He's finally figured out that the sooner he does a "David Letterman", the better his chances of putting this mess behind him.

Why is there always a Cocktail waitress waiting in the wings with a cookie-cutter cheating story? I know the world is waiting for Tiger to fall on his own sword but come on.. there's more important things in life to worry about.
