  1. The F35 debate will be featured on CPAC Sunday night, according to the radio. I have not seen the episode but it will be interesting for sure. Personally I would have preferred to see a twin engine replacement, but let the decision makers make their decisions.
  2. Don't play dumb with me,,, That's a game you can't win.

  4. The Nanticoke Generating Station is the largest coal-fired power plant in North America, delivering up to 3,964 MW[1] of power into the southern Ontario power grid from its base in Nanticoke, Ontario, Canada. Nanticoke Generating Station is owned by Ontario Power Generation—formerly Ontario Hydro—which, in turn, is 100% owned by the Government of Ontario. It was scheduled for decommission in early 2009 as part of the Ontario commitment to eliminate coal power, but this has been repeatedly delayed and is currently unlikely to occur before 2014, assuming new nuclear power plants are available at that time.
  5. I used to enjoy your posts but lately you have become rather boorish. You think Alberta should pay more into a imaginary carbon trading scheme. And Ontario is exempt because it is closing down coal generating plants. I won't even get involved in your slagfest, but in my opinion you just don't get it. Your attitude makes me think that the comments of Quebec and Ontario's representatives at Copenhagen are really how central Canada feels. We touched on separation years ago when the coalition debacle was front page, you might be surprised at how deep this feeling is in Western Canada. Still waters run deep my friend.
  6. It would be wrong to close this thread. There are many good links that take time to review and understand. I would hate to lose all the conversation that has gone on so far.
  7. Greg, just hit the home button on the page that is linked to There is an archive section. I listened to today's audio and it was very good. Laughed at his point near the end. Copenhagen has a shortage of limousines They are importing 1400 some being driven from Germany.
  8. I have always assumed they are talking about ice that is above sea level. Not free floating ice in the ocean.
  9. Correction: TransAlta is the producer of the wind energy. TransAlta website
  10. Ramjet Calgary.ca OK Tell us what you know. I thought TransAlta was the infrastructure of the power grid. Interesting note for Dagger and all the greenies. See the last line on the City of Calgary link I posted. It is expected that the "Ride the Wind" program will increase power costs by less than one-half of one cent per passenger. Why an increase in power cost? It's just wind right?
  11. J.O. No, it is a calculation that they use to promote their wind power. The City of Calgary owns Enmax (the electricity provider) and the Calgary Transit (the LRT system). They calculate that the wind farm output meets the LRT use. Mostly, it works best when the mayor is facing south and talking or blowing some new BS out his posterior.
  12. " Deviation in basis points 1951-80 " According to your graph, it seems that anything after 1980 is an extrapolation. That's bad science.
