Ignorance of SOME pax/guests

Watching  the CBC and CTV news and naturally the  Press  gets a hold of some nut bar who knows absolutely nothing except he has paid for a ticket and AC/WJ refuses to fly him out  on time JUST BECAUSE it is raining/snowing...read snow/rain/ice pellets/freezing rain.

"I can't even get in touch with AC/WJ staff because apparently they are having a higher than normal call volume..these airlines really don't care about us, they have our money and we get to go when THEY decide. Time for the government to step in and straighten out these guys"

And another guest/pax states.."Why are we all lined up here in the Terminal...look there are many airplanes just sitting out there...why are we not moving....those people at the gates just keep telling us that they can rebook us on a later flight...we planned this flight for months now we will not get there until tomorrow..if we are lucky "

Good luck to all of you that have to be at the  YYZ airport today...

Exactly. Average weekday winter storm car crash count for Toronto is about 400 (my source is in the auto repair appraisal biz. Every winter storm he’s says “ka-Ching”). Saturday’s optional day (for the majority) of driving hit a crash count somewhere near 550.

What is average for a weekend in the GTA?

Could not find numbers for a weekend but

Quote

What to do if you're in one of Toronto's nearly 200 daily traffic collisions

According to Toronto Police, there were 70,004 traffic collisions in the city in 2016

No idea but 550 in a single day requiring police response is high.  and then to repeat again on Sunday was just silly.  People should realize that NOTHING sticks to ice. (Studded tires maybe).  The problem was compounded by people removing their winter tires in favour of summer tires before the storm hit.
