Moon The Loon
RIP, Morley. I think the last of the generation of jounalists of the Edward R. Murrow influence.
Seeker
I liked the guy but more importantly I trusted him.
av8tor
I, too, watched the 60 Minutes segment on Morley Safer, and felt like I had grown up with him. He was one of those fortunate individuals who not only loved his job, he couldn’t wait to get at the next story. I can't help but wonder how many great stories would have gone unwritten had he been “forced” to retire at an earlier age ...
blues deville
What a career? No wonder he worked into his 80's. He loved what he did and was good at it. He also had what all good radio and tv personalities require. A great speaking voice. As headlined by Kip, he will be missed by many.
J.O.
He also had a long career without ever demonstrating a particular political bias - a very rare trait, especially in American news circles.
