More pics of the Convair

The cargo aircraft was on a short flight from Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood to Opa Locka when the Captain reported engine trouble. The aircraft was successfully ditched into the Atlantic Ocean several hundred meters off Haulover Beach. Both crewmembers survived with minor injuries. The aircraft was not carrying any cargo at the time of the accident.

When we open the hangar doors where I work there's a perfect view of the aircraft along the north satelite terminal in YYZ, where AT often parked (before WJ left T3 anyway... not so often any more)... I once had the perfect view of three AT L1011's with their tails in pefect line to see all three of their number 3 inlets and their star logos visible...
