Super 80
There is a beach in Saudi Arabia that has a crashed plane that has been rotting there for atleast 40 years. I will have to find the picture a friend of mine took, you can only barely make out the plane under all the sea gulls.
AME
More pics of the Convair The cargo aircraft was on a short flight from Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood to Opa Locka when the Captain reported engine trouble. The aircraft was successfully ditched into the Atlantic Ocean several hundred meters off Haulover Beach. Both crewmembers survived with minor injuries. The aircraft was not carrying any cargo at the time of the accident. http://www.airdisaster.com/photos/n582hg/3.shtml N582HG View of the plane which crashed of the Sunny Isles beach while enroute to Opa-Locka Airport from FLL. The plane had engine failure on both engines. http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.sear...r_pages=4&page=
Mitch Cronin
Synchronicity missed.... too bad it's not a Beech. When we open the hangar doors where I work there's a perfect view of the aircraft along the north satelite terminal in YYZ, where AT often parked (before WJ left T3 anyway... not so often any more)... I once had the perfect view of three AT L1011's with their tails in pefect line to see all three of their number 3 inlets and their star logos visible... - Caption: "TriStar" ...no camera. ...synchronicity missed....
