conehead
I guess it must be worth a lot of money as a housing development. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/bombardier-downsview-airport-for-sale-1.4486212
Super 80
I don't believe Bombardier actually owns the airfield.
Kip Powick
I think they do own it and have exclusive rights to use it.......some kind of backroom deal...
Super 80
I knew they were the operator, I just had no idea they had come to own the entire airfield. I thought it was owned by Canada Lands.
Tango Foxtrot
Governments lined up 10 deep to give them land, and pay for the buildings . Taxes ? Why pay them look at all the good paying jobs we provide! Just thinking out loud but this has potential ! The Americans and Brazilians will go ballistic. boestar
Only the south side of downsview is owned by Bombardier. I believe the north side is still owned by the Government of Canada. That land is worth Billions as a development. Years ago they already lopped off part of the field when they extended Dufferen Avenue north. The east side was developed and is all housing now.
