J.O.
Early info, sketchy details. Hope all are okay. https://www.citynews1130.com/2020/03/01/air-canada-flight-to-yvr-evacuated-in-san-francisco-sunday/
vanishing point
Another article with video: https://samchui.com/2020/03/01/air-canada-flight-declared-mayday-evacuated-on-taxiway/#.Xl05-C9yihA I wouldn’t agree that passengers were “pouring out of the wings in front...”. Video shows the evacuation to be quite orderly. Well done crew!
Specs
Curious comment on CBS Air traffic controllers ordered the plane to quickly return to the airport and fire trucks and emergency crews were rolled out onto Runway 28R https://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2020/03/01/air-canada-flight-forced-to-make-emergency-landing-at-san-francisco-international/
J.O.
Lol, typical. “You foreigners will land now!”
vanishing point
This is why I dislike reading news articles about aviation incidents. There are no slides on a RJ and ATC will likely never “order” an aircraft to land that declares an emergency. ATC will assist the crew to minimize the time spent airborne. I am aware articles are written for the general public and for sensationalism but this is ridiculous.

Seeker
It's all about time - gotta get something/anything up on the webpage and twitter feed. Doesn't matter if it's accurate as long as it's there - gotta get those clicks.
