Kip Powick Posted January 18, 2011 Share Posted January 18, 2011 When I come to this main page and move my mouse around I have a small red "X" in a box just to the left of the originators name.....no matter what thread I go to the box with the red "x" follows me. When I go a thread, the thread Title gives a "little jump".If I read a thread and then what to go to the bottom to go back to the Thread Titles, there is no "Go" button.Have dumped my cache and cookies, re -signed on but it still happens....anyone else.????? Edited to add...if I put my mouse over the red "X" it says "view topic preview" but I can't find a setting to turn that off...again...anyone?? It should say " |--Airline Aviation forum (main) " with a blue select button (to select other threads). This is NOT working.I also restarted my browser to make sure it's not me.John On my Mac G4. If you look BELOW the forum jump selection (where the GO button used to be) there is a link to the last - Forumn Main - Next topic.The preview sort of works even though is doesnt display a preview so much as who wrote it. Kip Powick Posted January 19, 2011 Author Share Posted January 19, 2011 Seems to be fine now.I have all the same symptoms...not good.I can use the "back button" on IE8 to go back to the previous page now, I couldn't do that before it all went haywire....... but still have the "floating" red "X" as well as no "GO" button in the lower right corner. During the time that it's loading, the button is active and can be selected. But once the page has finished loading, the Go button disappears completely. I am not getting Kip's mysterious red "X" though.Jeff,Run your mouse right down beside the column entitled "started by" (run the mouse up and down on the left side of that column. If I hover over the red X I get a ("view topic preview) and I would assume the red X is supposed to be a "gif" or symbol to indicate that is what you click to read "topic preview" EDITED TO ADD:..and you are correct...when I posted this reply the "go" button was there but for only about 5 seconds. You might try setting your file associations for 'png' files to "Windows Picture and Fax Viewer" and see if that makes a difference. There is some new features and looks like some of the .png's did not get added to the right folders. Kip, you should have that annoying "x" gone by now. I notice also that when you click on a link in a posting it now opens a new window. I like that a lot better, I used to accidentally close the forum rather than go back before.
