"We will be back into Calgary probably in the spring or fall of 2023," said Bureau, though he says that depends on the airline's ability to add new aircraft to its fleet.

I’m thinking spring of 2023 is a bit optimistic.

Is anyone else surprised that YYC isn’t working out so well for them? For the length of time it took to get this company flying, I’d have thought they’d come up with some better route planning. 🤔

From "Luchtvaartnieuws", a Dutch aviation news site. Google translation.

Dutch tour operator and airline Corendon will utilize 2 Canada Jetlines A-320 this summer.

Corendon Dutch Airlines will lease two Airbus A320s from Canada Jetlines this summer season for extra capacity during the busiest months. In addition to Maastricht Aachen Airport, where the tour operator uses the A320 to six destinations as previously announced, the aircraft are also used for routes from Schiphol and Rotterdam Airport.

Canada Jetlines is a small, relatively new airline that started operations in 2022 and focuses on holiday flights from Canada to the Caribbean. There is a lot of demand for this, especially during the cold winter months. In the summer it is a lot quieter and the company has aircraft available for wet leases.

Dutch tour operators often work with Canadian companies for the same reason: while winter is the high season in Canada, summer is in Europe.

First one coming in April
The first A320 will come to the Netherlands in April, and the second in June. “The two aircraft will return to Canada ahead of our busy fall and winter period,” said Canada Jetlines CEO Eddy Doyle. “The collaboration (with Corendon, ed.) underlines our commitment to maximum efficiency and meeting the seasonal requirements of our customers.”

Aviation News previously reported that Corendon is launching new routes from Maastricht Aachen Airport to Mallorca and Malaga with the A320. Aeroroutes has now created a handy overview of the routes on which Airbuses are most often scheduled during the upcoming summer season. Of course that can still change.

The main routes:

Amsterdam – Burgas
Maastricht – Antalya
Maastricht – Burgas
Maastricht – Heraklion
Maastricht – Palma de Mallorca
Maastricht – Malaga
Maastricht – Zakynthos
Rotterdam – Al Hoceima
Rotterdam – Antalya
Rotterdam – Izmir
Rotterdam – Kayseri

I assume this means Jetlines pilots will be working in the Netherlands this summer and Corendon pilots will work here in Canada over the coming winter.
