you have no time 200 hours

You have no night time 400 hours

You have no ski time 500 hours

you have no round engine time 800 hours

You have no turbine time 1000 hours

You have no West Coast time 2000 hours

you have no mountain time 3000 hours

You have no twin time 5000 hours

If I recall correctly in 1975 250 hours was all a person needed.

Cheers

To reach that next rung in the aviation ladder. Sounds like bug smasher is frustrated with the continual changing minimum requirements of the industry.

These aren't really requirements so much as they are excuses given by those that do the hiring when there are no jobs available. Or when the jobs that are available are being sought after by over-qualified (laid-off) pilots.

Obviously at some point someone changed that tune or you wouldn't have got to that 5000 hr mark, right?

Anyway, you evidently stuck at it and that's worth a feather or two in your own cap as you tell your tales to those behind you, or reflect on your past at some point in the future...

Could be worse too.... you could be stuck on the ground mired in filth because of bad decisions made before you had the wisdom to know how bad those decisions were.

Damn that sounds too familiar! :(

Good luck.

Mitch
