Guest CarryOn
Just in! Lordon has ordered a review of Keller's award. He wants the two sides to sit down ASAP and come up with a new list. The Keller award will stand for the equipment bid that closes on June 30th but the next bid will relect the final seniority list. The whole process was very enlighting. Fido
Best quote after the meeting: "I'm embarrassed by this. We must look like a bunch of prima donnas, arguing about who goes up 10 percent and who goes down 10 percent when the airline is basically going down in flames,"

Airband
"Keller seniority list will be used to determine which pilots lose their jobs and how assignments for pilots are determined. The union's split over seniority, which has been a divisive issue since Air Canada acquired Canadian Airlines in early 2000, comes amid a ratification vote on a cost-cutting agreement with Air Canada, which says it must have confirmation from all its unions by Monday, June 30. Also on Monday, pilots are to complete their so-called equipment bidding, based on seniority, which decides which pilots fly which planes in coming months. "Time is of the essence," Air Canada lawyer Brian Burkett told Lordon. In his oral ruling before a room packed with uniformed pilots, Lordon said he would leave the Keller seniority list in effect for now, noting Air Canada's need to go ahead with the equipment bidding. But Lordon suggested a review of the arbitrator's decision may result in the need to correct problems or inequalities." http://www.torontostar.com/NASApp/cs/ContentServer?pagename=thestar/Layout/Article_Type1&c=Article&cid=1056665411890&call_pageid=968350072197&col=968705923364

The only constant question here (seeing as we can't control the ecomomy of our own country) is "do you want a paycheck"??? I do.
