Mitch Cronin
http://www.kaosweaver.com/flash911.html Many of you have seen this before, but it's powerfull and worth seeing again... (There are other sites that also "mirror" this memorial slide show, such as http://attacked911.tripod.com/, but some of them include all sorts of other pop-ups and annoying ads... that first link has none of that.) conehead
Three years ago today, it was a beautiful day in southern Ontario, just like today. At about 11:00 in the morning, I took a walk down the ramp in YYZ. All the aircraft were parked at the gate. The sun was shining, and I could hear birds singing. Wasn't a cloud in the sky. The aircraft were all shut down, there was no equipment running, nothing. Other than the bird-song, there was an eirie silence. We were not yet aware of just how devestating the day would be, but we knew it would be bad. I will never forget that day.
CanadaEH
I wasn't at work that day; I spent 8 hours parked in front of my TV.. in awe. I remember flicking on the TV just as the second plane hit the WTC. I will remember that for the rest of my life. If I can get my scanner going and if people are interested in seeing them, I'll scan some pictures of YVR on Sept 12. It's a sight that we will never, ever see again. zipped
I would appreciate seeing some pictures of YVRAP on that day. We were sent home that day by the airline. It was a good move on there part.
chockalicious
I went to work that day. Not really having proper perspective of what had just happened I used all of the down time once the air space had been shut down to do a bunch of training that needed to be done. I ran guys thru their recurrent and then signed off on their records. I eventually left that company and was going thru all my files to wrap things up. Pretty darn freaky to see my signature and 9/11/01 on a bunch of training records.
Guest CabinDweller
“I don’t think I’m going to get out of this.” He started sobbing so quietly that only I, who knew him so well, would have known he was crying. It made me feel terribly helpless because, except for the night you were born, I’d never heard your father cry. Emmy, what I need you to understand is that your daddy and I managed to say enough to each other in 20 minutes on the telephone to bring our life together to an orderly conclusion. It didn’t matter that in the few moments I had been awake I’d learned that airplanes were being rammed into the very center of government in Washington and the tallest skyscrapers in New York in an attack orchestrated by bloody-minded fanatics; or that four of those men were on Flight 93 and we both suspected, though we would never admit it to each other, that your daddy was probably right and would not survive... *http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5960348/?GT1=5100*
