blues deville
Actually “FO Joe” would sound better but then who would listen? Love that 777 gear but only the rear set are hinged on the 200LR and -300ER. The semi-levered feature changes the landing gear rotation point from the center of the gear truck to the axle of the aft wheel set. The rearward change of rotation point increases ground angle of attack, lowers Vmu and reduces takeoff field length. Brilliant design and made in Canada. You may remember that many years ago in AC, if you qualified as a Captain on a "small" aircraft and upgraded to a "bigger" airplane as a FO , you could still wear 4 stripes even though you were designated as an FO. That policy was changed at AC and now 3 stripes means you are an FO on something and without asking no one would know that you were once a Captain.. Perhaps this young fellow was a Captain on something and everyone knows that and besides ....who ever listens to an FO ? He is now a FO on 747-8 at CargoLux.
