moeman
I'm surprised we don't charge a fee for tire wear and tear, brakes, de-icing, lightning insurance, etc. Car rental companies get away with it, why shouldn't we? How about asking if they'd like to short their fuel surcharge and gamble? You win, we send you money back. Lose, and it will cost you extra. Bunk Dweller
And congress is "studying" it too. Studying ways to help airlines go back to hiding their fees.http://www.businessweek.com/ap/2014-05-08/airlines-take-case-to-congress-on-airfare-rule
Zan Vetter
Airlines have their first good run of years in forever and we have to study how they did it?
Guest
I'm always surprised that the airlines get singled out for this.I just bought a new car. The price of the car did not in any way reflect the final price...Add in:- Vehicle documentation fee - $588.00- New vehicle fed. air excise tax - $100.00- New vehicle Alberta tire levy - $20.00- New & used AMVIC levy - $6.25- GST - $1442.00- Loan registration - $99.00Only another $2255.25 added on to the purchase price of $28844.I guess this is another thing I can yell at my MP about when he pops by before the next election to tell me how much he cares about me. Homerun
The documentation fee is just a made up fee by the dealer and doesnt represent any cost by the dealer. Its sometimes called an admin fee.You can negotiate that down to what it should be...nothing.Last couple of cars I've bought I always tell them that I charge a purchase fee thats equal to any admin fee they may try and add on.
