Guest Virtual
Something seems amiss. Why did your union agree that it was acceptable, if that is not what its' members wanted?
Mitch Cronin
Because the union was protecting it's majority membership... station attendants. By screwing us they managed to avoid a larger hit for the whole group...
Mitch Cronin
Are you telling us that for 25 years, any extra flying you did, whether it was flying you wanted or not, was unpaid? Somehow, I think you might have missed that feature.
Guest Virtual
Thanks. Now it's beginning to make a little more sense. Perhaps you need to organize your own union - whose priority is your group. It could be ..... ACMA! (It might even take some 'heat' off ours for awhile!)
wrench
I was just having a very bad day today. All I hear all day are people whining about day's off and pay deductions and what kind of equipment Air Canada is "buying" and CCAA and monitors and who fly's what and how many seats and what flying is going to tier 3.... you know what??? You are all entitled to your own opinions and you are all correct. 30 years of this has finally got to me. There will always be airlines. There will always be people who want a job that's better than the next guy. There will always be people who promise their employers the world to get hired and once they are hired, don't give a rats butt about the job or employer just as there will always be employers who promise employees the moon and the stars and give them nothing. So fellow "posters", conehead, Kip, Mitch, and my good buddy AME, good night. We will have differing opinions tomorrow.
DEFCON
Mitch I don't believe your extra work is "unpaid". If I understand correctly, you're granted time off, with pay, in lieu of... This is the system we worked with! Defcon
