GDR Posted October 19, 2012 Share Posted October 19, 2012 Thanks again everyone. Greg, the Vet offered several options. In home or not, owner present or not... you don't have to be there. I know several people that preferred not to be present. I just didn't want her to be afraid, and she wasn't...I really miss her today... That is one thing we are sure about. We'll be with him when it happens. The poor little guy is blind, deaf and nearly toothless. However right now he seems to be pain free and still likes to sit with us. Innuendo Posted October 20, 2012 Share Posted October 20, 2012 Having had to do this a few times over the years, a thought that has helped me is that while today we can keep our pals in good health and enjoying life a lot longer than Mother Nature ever intended, when they finally do develop something incurable that causes suffering, and prolonging life is only prolonging that suffering, then we owe them the relief that Mother Nature would have provided in her time.
