Mitch Cronin
Make it clear exactly what you're quoting - if you don't want to use the quote box (utilizing the [quote] tag), try highlighting the quoted portion of text with italics, or bold text, or with colour... Some of you often don't do this, and it does make it difficult to see your point when you can't even tell which are your words! Attribute the quoted text properly - Often quoted text is left hanging around with no mention of the source... Thats unfair to it's author, and it detracts from clear understanding... Guest woxof
I gotta admit....I don't know how some people make multiple quotes of previous posts in white with their own text in between. In fact I can't even seem to be able to highlight in bold or coloured text. Rattler?
Mitch Cronin
To add a colour highlight to any text, just put your cursor at the beginning of what you wish to highlight, click and hold (regular left click ) the button while you now move the cursor to the end of what you want to highlight, and then release the button... you will then see a different color over the text.... nect click the little arrow beside the "COLOR" button above the post window and select a colour... presto, the correct tags are placed in front of and behind the text you've highlighted and now it will display in that colour you chose... If it's a quote box you want, after highlighting it with your mouse, click on the little QUOTE button above the post window and it will add [QUOTE] before and a [/QUOTE] after it to wind up with that portion of text in the white quote box..., (you can also just manually type in those [QUOTE] and [/QUOTE] tags to accomplish the same thing
mo32a
OK Now how do you quote multiple postings from different posters in one reply?
Mitch Cronin
...by typing [quote] in front of each portion of text you want to quote, and ending with a [/quote] If you want to identify who said it in the quote box, you can use: [quote=whoever] ...like this this is what whoever wrote yadyada and you can add as many of these boxes as you like: yadayada woofwoof
