Kip Powick
January 15, 2005 unexpected stop in Winnipeg An Air Canada flight carrying more than 90 people made an unexpected stop in Winnipeg yesterday. One of the plane's two engines is believed to have stopped working while the plane was on its way to Toronto from Regina. Air Canada spokeswoman Laura Cooke says the plane can fly safely on one engine but the pilot chose to land in Winnipeg. All passengers were put on a different plane to Toronto
wjafa
last week a WestJet plane (-200) in Saskatoon was having one of its engines worked on as well. Apparently it failed during a flight. I read this in the Province but so far have been unable to find another reference to it.
GreatSlave
Reminds me of the time that I called up our fresh wannabe dispatcher on company and told him in a rather breathless voice "Call maintenance and tell them that we're coming in on one engine!". I was in the Turbo Beaver . Maintenance got it. Kev
Don Hudson
...just like an engine-out in the B52...the dreaded 7-engine approach. Kip, I couldn't get any of the avi's you posted links to to work. Anyone else had any trouble? Cheers, Don

It was on CTV News Net a few days ago, they had a compressor stall and dropped in to YXE enroute to YYC from YWG.
Check Pilot
Is that not a wee bit north of track? Or was Regina looking like the inside of a cow's belly maybe?

Guest YWG Flyer
Was setting up for a few hours of photography under RWY 31, when I heard on the scanner she was coming in. It was too early for photos, so I shot video of her. Here's the result: http://contrailsphotography.com/videos.html Matt YWG
Guest rattler
Great video but you will not want any Airport "Noise reduction committee" to view / listen to it or they will want to standardize the one engine approach / landing in the interests of noise reduction....
