conehead
Question; if a pilot were to be diagnosed with diabetes, may he continue to fly or does his licence get lifted?
Vsplat
From the CARs Medical Standards Chart for Categories I, II and III, "1.18 Proven cases of diabetes mellitus may be considered fit provided the certain specific control criteria are met. NOTE: These criteria are outlined in the Health Canada Document "Canadian Guidelines for the Assessment of Medical Fitness in Pilots, Flight Engineers and Air Traffic Controllers with diabetes mellitus 1995." Your CAME should have access to this document or be able to point you toward it. I hope this helps. Best wishes. Vs.
