... for 80k per year... any takers ?

Wake the frig up folks, because this is where we are ALL headed in Canada.

Sure... the 320 is a fun airplane to fly... but after a while it is, after all... just an airplane...and I have earned more than 80K flying a Dash-8 10 years ago.... as an FO !

Keep pulling us down folks... to the lowest "Canadian" common denomonator... but I will do my best to stay out of this quicksand... and leave the country... hell, my Dad did it with (socialist) Denmark, thats the only reason I'm here now ! I'll also take my spending, experience and taxes with me... guess who'll be left to make up the difference ?

Am I bitter ? .... you bet

Yeah, heck I would love to know where as well.

At the AC Connectors I know that the F/O's most definitly DID NOT make 80K per year. Where on earth did you get that info? La la Land ?

set it all up ??? ... you don't think that this is ALL my personal fault do you? ... if you do, you're just a "little too far out there" ... I'm just a very small cog in the big machine... I have little to no influence on anyting... but, I do have the ability to react... not much more though...

Hi Don !

Times they are a'changing !

My Dad left Denmark 34 years ago with 2 kids in tow to find a better life in aviation because things weren't working out that well in those days in our "home country" ... now the reverse is becoming a reality... weird eh ? ( spoken like the true Canadian I am !). Now those 2 kids are looking at some broader horizons as well... can you blame us ? Best wishes to you as well Don... my Dad has high regards for you and I will say hello to him from you when I talk to him tommorrow.

Best regards,

Pete Jensen

Hi Pete;

Yeah. Times are changing indeed.

Your Dad and I had wonderful time in HKG, but went via Anchorage...ask him about it. ;)

The only term I can think of to describe the reversal you're seeing is "ironic", and much of life is ironic anyway. We just didn't know until now.

kindest,

Don

Hi Kal

I am of the "243" fame as you mentioned... which left me left me as a "cog OUTSIDE of the machine" ! ... it was a HELPLESS (read CALPA) situation for us "243ers" back in those days... but how long are we going to keep digging up this mud ? .. 10..20..300 years ?

Pull the string pete. You'll find that tht event inevitably led to this event.

How long it goes forward is anyone's guess.

Hey Peanuts and others.

Pete has got a legitimate point here. It is friggin ridiculous to be paid 80 grand a year to Captain an A320. But instead of pilots realizing this, the ones that aren't flying that aircraft will do anything and EVERYTHING in an attempt to take or secure that flying for themselves.

This industry is sickening. The bar has been lowered once again substantially and some of the comments raised here by connector pilots has to make ones' head shake in wonderment. INstead of striving for a legitimate and honourable wage for highly skilled people who have invested years of "internship" and training, I see pilots wringing their hands in glee to know that they have possibly taken flying away from higher paying counterparts. It is the typical Canadian way... I am not happy until everyone is making the same wage.

Where does it stop? Will Jazz start charging pilots for the honour to fly their aircraft next?...

Hey Pete,

Oh, I see, you are not actually leaving, just wanted to vent in a public forum. Sheeeesh, take a guy at his word, and now you are an immediate judge of my character. By the way, it's DENOMINATOR.

Cheers!

On the other hand, the ones "that arent doing the flying..." want to be recognized as equals. Is that to much to ask? Why do you think the bar keeps getting lower? My opinion is completely that the corporations whipsaw one pilot group against the other. And that is why one group may be seemingly doing "anything" to secure the flying. Would this be happening if we were on the same page? I think not. Good day to you dozerboy.
