((("It is friggin ridiculous to be paid 80 grand a year to Captain an A320.")))

I keep seeing 80K/yr for A320 Captain under the new restructuring agreement. To reflect this, that would mean the current pay would have to be around 95K-16% = 80K.

Maybe someone could shed some light because I must be missing something here.

An RJ captain @ AC earns more than 95K so I will take an educated guess here that a Captain on the A320 would be somwhere in the 150K to 160K.

For anyone moving there from Canada, at least you would feel at home with the probity and responsivenes of local government. Levels of local health care and social services would be increasingly familiar as well.

Gimme a break, I came from a regional!!! The pilots were exactly the same from one to the other, and except for a few at AC, I have yet to see one who thinks that we are not equal. Probably the same type of few people who won't give an inch from the regional, and have now driven such a massive rift into our profession that I wonder if it can ever be healed.

"Whoop whoop, I have managed to secure 50 seat aircraft for our pilots. Sorry but you are going to have to fly it for goddamn peanuts. But boy I sure got those junior ACPA dicks ...real good". said Captain Nick "That's teaches them real good, they will never screw with us again".

Comrade Jensen:

I have a pretty good reason for my bad memory..they killed me with a pickaxe in 1940.

What did they do to you comrade? 80k as an F/O at GX 10 years ago you say? We like to call that revisionist history.

Your post seems to indicate that you frown on anything socialist so I will go out on a limb and presume that you embrace ideas and concepts that are more prone to be likened as capitalist or free enterprise.

If this is the case comrade why do you howl with such indignant protest when the wages in a particular sector of the economy are being set by simple, competitive market forces? We simply have two competing groups of equally qualified workers bidding to do a job.

Comrade if you needed a new boathouse at your cottage and you had two equally qualified contractors in all respects and the one contractor was 40% cheaper I am certain that even your altruism knows limits and you would choose the cheaper contractor.

The puzzling thing comrade is that you and your acpa revolutionairies have insisted over the past number of years that both groups of pilots remain in separate bargaining units. I can only assume that this was done in order that one day you could prove to the world that capitalism really is the better way and that open and honest competition really does provide the best product and keeps the natural greed of the workers in check. Your theory is reaping it's natural harvest comrade! You need to celebrate mother acpa's victories rather than turn them into something to be ashamed of!

One last thing Comrade, do not forget to turn in your health card before you leave if you are taking your taxes with you!
