  1. I think the CRJ line was sold to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) who already manufactured a good part of the aircraft.
  2. purview noun the limit of someone's responsibility, interest, or activity:
  3. Thanks Kip, now I get it. I didn’t recognize William with all that hair!
  4. I don't know who either of them are... and that's ok with me!
  5. Interesting story. I remember reading about this shortly after it happened, and Air Canada had recently installed tracking devices in all of their vehicles. Some of the guys were not happy about being tracked all the time...
  6. Are you being sarcastic, or did it actually work for WestJet? I know it didn't work very well for Air Canada when they outsourced some of this work to India... I remember calling about some lost luggage, and the agent barely spoke English.
  7. Outsourcing your Customer Service… yeah, that’s gonna work well..
  8. A pretty simple solution. If there are any defects noted, then other more sophisticated NDT devices can be used to further investigate. The "tap-test" is a long accepted technique, which I'm sure some of us have used while trying to locate a stud inside a wall.
  9. Seems obvious to me… they want to be paid for some time period prior and after each flight, because that is time spent “working”. Currently that is unpaid time. Also, they want to staff some flights with more F/As than what they do now, which creates more F/A jobs. Anyone can correct me if I’m wrong..
  10. 16,000 feet... man, that's pretty deep. It'll cost a few bucks to try and retrieve it.
  11. What does your statement mean, in relation to this story? I don’t get it…
  12. Thanks Malcolm. I couldn't find any information about them; these little guys are facinating, and they should have a BIG future in explorations!
  13. FAA AD 737Max return to service.pdfThe FAA has issued a new AD permitting the Max-9 return to service after the appropriate inspections and repairs.
  14. I'm interested in learning what's the status of LEV-1 and -2? Did they deploy successfully? What are they doing?
  15. Oh... well, that's a different kettle of fish then.
  16. Who cares where it was made? That's irrelevant... it's the installation process at fault.
  17. While I'm not familiar with the flight deck door on the Max, I do know that a decompression event will cause the door to unlock electrically on other aircraft types. Those other aircraft also have decompression panels built into a portion of the door. So, while the entire door would not blow open, a panel on that door would.
  18. Regarding the crews, I'm sure they are assigned other duties for the rest of the year.
