  1. I hope the airlines retaliate in some form. This **bleep** is ridiculous.
  2. But only after he's done parading around a table in high heels. Priorities, after all.
  3. This doesn't sound good for Flair.
  4. If anyone is surprised by this they've been living under a rock. Must be a slow news day.
  5. Canadian airlines might as well paint giant punching bags on their fuselage and get used to the beating they'll continue to take not just from the consumer but by the government that bends them over backwards and feeds them a constant pounding, too. The APPR regs are going to cripple this industry.
  6. Jetsgo. There, I said it.
  7. At this point it's embarrassing. The hiring challenges are real but so too is any decision to adjust your compensation to attract people who want to work. Embarrassing.
  8. SO when does Onex buy Transat? 6 months? 9 months? 12 months?
  9. https://twitter.com/CarymaRules/status/1455542435283603462?s=20
  10. They haven't been outsourced; neither has YEG. I suspect both bases don't have enough signed up. I'm sure they're close.
  11. "The next day"..... which is 100% false. Lot of employees were laid off. No doubt about that. Seniority was in place for those layoffs so the more senior employees remained while those junior did not... until those bases were closed down about a year after those layoffs started. And yes all bases except the big 4 were contracted out but not on your timeline. Get your facts straight.
  12. The government becomes the 4th largest shareholder and would be the largest shareholder if all warrants are exercised. I wonder what preferential treatment AC will get to maximize its return on investment?
  13. So AC is back to being owned by the government (albeit a small amount)?
  14. Interesting comments about AMS, though.
  15. These routes have a get-ahead-of-Flair-announcements kinda vibe to it.
  16. I don't think the CSA's are or were unionized? Nonetheless, sad to see WJ contract out customer service across Canada.
  17. Who's shocked by this? As of 2 days ago the government hadn't selected a hotel for the quarantine camp in YYC yet. So......
  18. To specifically piss you off. Looks like it worked.
  19. When I read that WestJet was going to refund money I thought hmmm there has to be another shoe to fall. To see the announcement today re: rapid testing vs. 14 day mandatory quarantine it all makes sense.
  20. WestJet is refunding ALL fare classes - refundable AND nonrefundable tickets. AC was refunding refundable tickets only.
  21. If a flight was booked and then cancelled to or from a destination that is no longer available, a refund should be given. Full stop. If a flight was cancelled to or from a destination that is still available but at a reduced frequency, you could make an argument to provide a travel credit. This whole concept of keeping money in the form of a credit when the airline knows full well many of these flights aren't going to return for years is incredibly shady.
  22. Hi Kip, you're entitled to believe what you read and hear. I believe there's a very different (true) story out there and this guy is playing the victim card based on race and religion. I'm not sure what his intent or end game is but whatever it is he can enjoy flying on another airline or driving to his next destination.
