Guest Dash eight
Zip to not only drop service from Yxu to yyc yvr but they intend on resuming service in March...? Will the market be there 4 months later and not only that will the angered "guests" return once again like in the past when the pulled out or will they gladly walk over to westjets counter? Who makes these idiot decisions as once you pull out of a market do you think the guests are going to return when the service does??
Guest Patrick Bergen
What would make you think that Zip is not going to London?
Guest lancaster
Not on your life. What Zip is attempting to do is what WJ did in the markets of YMM and YWG. That is, when WJ initially went in, prices dropped. When WJ pulled service, the brain children at AC jacked the prices, WJ returned with low fares and AC lost a ton of customers. WJ will not Jack the prices, so Zip and AC has lost this battle as well for ever. Not that the YXU/YYC route ever did draw many guests, (35% load factor) for Zip. Once again WJ wins! wizard
lancaster westjet did not win in yxu because A.C. mainline will put a A 319 on the route for the winter, and ZIP will be back with the summer and westjet has pulled back on it's frequency. So before you declear a winner get your fact's together.
Guest lancaster
AC mainline is has higher costs. What on earth would they place mainline in YXU to replace Zip for. The yield is more suited to Zip. If Zip is allocating seats on different routes and AC is simply hanging on to the market, this is no different than what they have done in the past on other weak markets. That is, simply put an aircraft in simply because someone else is their. IE: Abottsford. Figures on loads show their losing 6million a quarter on that run
wizard
First off A.c. mainline was in the yxu-ycc-yvr market first, second it will be Nov,dec, xmas loads will be full, and yes A.C.mainline will not hand the market share to westjet at xmas. wizard
No I think Zip is L.C. A.C.mainline is full service, so what are you saying Buzz2??
Guest Dash eight
Buzz....Buzz off and come back when you have correct info. Zip is low cost maybe not quite as low cost as westjet but they are!
Guest dwb yyc
Maybe only in AC world are the wages and working conditions at 10% less than mainline, low cost. Everywhere else it is just a cover to try to steal market share from WestJet while loosing a ton of cash in the process
dozerboy
It is losing not loosing...by the way word has it your sister has "lose" morals...hehe
Buzz2
There is a simple solution, if the loads are in the 35% range of a 737, just put the RJ on it.
