Guest CYYR
http://www.airliners.net/open.file/414638/L/ Look closely at the wing, do you see it, you don't see the winglet. CYYR
Guest AME
I believe this is permissable under the CDL (configuration deviation list) with a minor performance penalty, You'd be suprised at how many panels doors etc... that can be missing from an aircraft and still be serviceable Brett
ChicoChico
Its hard to believe but I saw this ac in YVR and it is missing a winglet. It is obviously MEL (minimum equipment list) ok! Chico

exGXer
Yes there is a 'let' for a 400 to fly minus a winglet but I do not know the exact technical details of such an operation.
Guest CYYR
The photographer was in the right place at the right time that is for sure, he sure had no problem getting that pic posted to airliners.net. CYYR

deicer
This isn't the first time that one of the 400's has been operating without a wingtip. If I remember correctly, a couple years ago one operated for a couple months without a tip after it was scrubbed off while being towed into the hangar in YYZ. Guest YWG Flyer
What about these: notice the missing centre gear: http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=414986 http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=414626
Guest Hardrock
I believe the -400 adds 3% fuel penalty for a missing winglet(CDL), and the 340, with the center gear locked up, gets a reduced max take off weight, equal to that of a 330.
