Why is it that the company feels that they can cut back line mtce in London(YXU) to one person when day after day we have problems with our aging fleet?

Wrong, we're only maturing in wisdom :)

But to clear up the possible confusion, we have a 5am to 5 pm shift and a 1pm to 1 am shift and there is never only one person. The 5am shift has 2 endorsed mtc guy for 2 hours until the rest of heavy mtc arrives and the 1pm shift has 2 endorsed AME's as well as one avionics and are working on the heavy mtc plane until 8pm. From 8 to 1 am they are supposed to be on call for line mtc and mel's or desnags but Halifax keeps sending work packages like engine inspections...

What happened sat when noone showed up and the aircraft didnt come over to the terminal until 645??

hehehe, schedule problems. One can only tell management so many times before giving up. Their oversight was no-one on sched for 5 to 5 for 2 days. This morning 2 of us switched our scheds and tomorrow goes back to normal.
