Lakelad Posted November 12, 2004 Share Posted November 12, 2004 Thursday November 11, 6:57 pm ET Delta Pilots Agree to Accept Pay Cuts Delta Pilots Agree to Plan That Will Reduce Salaries, Offer No Pay Raises for Next Five Years ATLANTA (AP) -- Delta Air Lines pilots handed the struggling airline a huge victory Thursday in its effort to avoid bankruptcy, agreeing to slash their salaries by more than $1 billion annually and forgo pay raises through 2009. Union leaders reached a tentative agreement with Delta after 15 months of negotiations. The five-year contract calls for a 32.5 percent pay cut and becomes effective Dec. 1. Ouch!
