The Flying Fleet

With 1929 footage of USS Langley, a merchant ship converted to one of the very first aircraft carriers. A type of ship not fully integrated into the US fleet until after Jimmy Doolitle's sorties to Japan in 1942 proving, after the fact of the Pearl Harbour attack, that the aircraft carrier was a formidable platform for strategic naval aviation.
