Dubai International

Number two on final for 30L (30R closed) two nights ago and somebody rejected their takeoff leaving behind suspected debris on the runway. Off we went orbiting the UAE city reviewing how long we could hang around waiting for an update. I thought since we number two when the event occurred that we'd be close to number two when the runway re-opened. Not!

Landed safely 35 minutes later with enough fuel that I didn't have to fill out extra paperwork. Any ATC types want to comment on how you deal with sequencing aircraft in this kind of situation? Several other aircraft bailed and went elsewhere but I'd like to know who gets priority for those who stick around. I didn't hear anyone mention the words "Min Fuel".
