Kip Powick Posted November 26, 2005 Share Posted November 26, 2005 Met a fellow today who went on the first Sunwing Vacation flight to Cuba last week. Says Sunwing has one aircraft and he was lucky enough to be on the inaugural flight. I think Sunwing is using Kelowna Flightcraft crews on aircraft, (737-700 or 800??) leased from Excel Corp ??? Said there was no restriction on luggage and some folks were humping down with 2 or 3 bicyles to give to the less fortunate. Apparently one of the "wheels" from the company was onboard, champagne was served enroute.........BUT upon arrival passengers found that 40 bags never made it........ Not to worry...SUNWING reps apparently gave the "no-baggers" $40.00 each and their bags arrived the next day. I flew on Sunwing last year...the aircraft was leased from Mexico and operated by a Mexican crew...the flight was not good........ for many reasons. In addition, Skyservice is operating a B757 under contract for them. The inaugural flight to Cuba was on their 737. In my opinion, that no limit baggage thing will last about one season.
