Kip Powick
During a visit to the mental asylum, a visitor asked the Director, "What is the criterion that defines an ex Air Canada F/A to be institutionalized?" "Well..." said the Director, "we fill up a bathtub, and offer a teaspoon, a teacup, and a bucket to the F/A and ask them to empty the bathtub." 1. Would you use the spoon? 2. Would you use the teacup? 3. Would you use the bucket? "Oh, I understand," said the visitor. "A normal person would choose the bucket as it is larger than the spoon or the teacup." "Noooooo," answered the Director. "A normal person would pull the plug." > > > > > > > > > > > > > > (You are not required to tell anyone how you did on this test.) Seeker
Kip, I must protest. The posing of the question leads one to believe that the choices offered represent the entire set of selectable choices. As someone who has much experience with Transport Canada exams you must remember times when the best answer is not included as a possible choice. That being said, the best choice between the bucket, teacup and spoon is not clear. The bucket will allow you rapidly empty most of the water but will leave some as "unscoopable" while the spoon is much slower it will eventually allow you to get more of the water out of the tub. The teacup is a compromise between the two. Since "time" is not identified as a weighted factor in the scenario but the state "empty" is then the best choice to empty the tub is the spoon because it's use will get closest to "empty". Kip Powick
For Seeker TC Revision 1.01A The "candidate" is led to a bathtub full of water. The following items are situated in close proximity to the bath tub..... a bucket, a spoon, a teacup. In order to completely empty the full tub in the shortest period of time the "candidate" is asked for his/her solution.
Seeker
To empty the tub in the shortest amount of time......pull the plug and then grab the bucket and use it to scoop water from the tub at the same time!

If I get cookies that have already had a bite out of them ...see another thread....do you really think the "average, mentally unhinged" F/A could think in that dimension??
