Mitch Cronin
Is there anyone here who could shed some light on this: There is a rumour posted elsewhere that some of our (AC's) 340's are having "A" and possibly "C" checks being done by HAECO in Hong Kong. Also that Mr. Li is a major shareholder in HAECO. Obviously if this is true, while many of our own maintenance staff are on lay-off, that would be a source of some consternation among the ranks... And if it's not true, we ought to find out soon in order ease the minds of those so concerned.
dagger
I have no idea where any AC aircraft are being maintained. However, HAECO is Swire Group/Cathay Pacific, which I don't believe has any connection with Victor Li or his father.
Mitch Cronin
I've learned that Cathay Pacific holds 25% of HAECO, and Swire Pacific, the parent company of Cathay Pacific, holds 28% ...the remaining 48% is in public hands. So I guess I'm trying to find out if any of the Li family has any significant chunk of that 48%...
Guest AME
Mitch If you have access to the aeronet, you can find the maintenance schedule there, If I remember right it's in neighbourhoods, tech ops, aircraft schedule. This will show you which aircraft, which check and which base (including the checks that are contracted out) Brett
Mitch Cronin
Thanks Brett... at least one A-check by HAECO has been confirmed... No idea if it marks the beginning of a trend, but it's damned sure to cause a ruckus.
