WestJet Revenue Passenger Miles Increase 43.4%

CALGARY, ALBERTA--WestJet announced its traffic statistics for

May 2003 today, featuring a 43.4% increase in revenue passenger

miles (RPMs) to 382,026,229, up from 266,351,829 in May 2002.

Year to date, RPMs have increased 46.4% to 1,669,539,115 from

1,140,688,174 in the same period in 2002.

Available seat miles (ASMs) grew 49.1% to 529,007,032 in May of

2003, up from 354,883,005 in May of 2002. Year to date, ASMs have

increased 55.6% to 2,517,987,210, up from 1,617,940,008 in the

same five-month period in 2002.

WestJet's load factor for May 2003 was 72.2% compared with 75.1%

in May of 2002. During the first five months of 2003, the

company's load factor was 66.3% compared with 70.5% during the

same period in 2002.

WestJet serves the 26 Canadian cities of Victoria, Comox,

Vancouver, Abbotsford/Fraser Valley, Prince George, Kelowna,

Calgary, Edmonton, Grande Prairie, Fort McMurray, Saskatoon,

Regina, Winnipeg, Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie, Thunder Bay, London,

Ottawa, Hamilton, Toronto, Windsor, Montreal, Moncton, Halifax,

St. John's (beginning June 16) and Gander (beginning June 17).

WestJet is publicly traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange under

the symbol WJA.

Living proof that even a tremendous increase in RPM's (46.4)as well as ASM's (49.1)and still, only a slight decline in load factor. Yields are up and life is grand! Way to go Canada's leading airline!
