Pink Slip Flight Attendant

She knew it was coming, what with the airline in turmoil and she being very junior, she knew it was inevitable. She had a “fall back” position though and when she was no longer required to be an active F/A she decided to work at an Elementary school as a student counselor.

One day during recess she noticed a boy standing by himself on the side of a playing field while the rest of the kids enjoyed a game of soccer at the other.

Eager to help the little tykes she approached and asked if he was all right. The boy said he was.

A little while later, however, she noticed the boy was in the same spot, still by himself. Approaching again, she said, "Would you like me to be your friend?"

The boy hesitated, then said, "Okay", looking at the ex -F/A suspiciously.

Feeling she was making progress, she then asked, "Why are you standing here alone?"

"Because," the little boy said with great exasperation, "I'm the goalie."
