Guest 6to8mos
How about this? Take 15% of wages, all unions, obtain a tax deductable investment loan, buy up as much AC bond dept as possible. Renegotiate the repayment terms, thus giving our company time to reorginize.

Guest 1FD2
I don't know about buying junk bonds with employee money, but it would make sense to get "something" for any concessions. And that sould be something more than just a job for a few more days. Even 15% from just the pilot group would be enough to purchase a couple of new narrow body Airbus products. Air Canada could then "lease" these specific aircraft from the pilot group -- perhaps for free under the current financial conditions. When conditions improve, Air Canada could pay market value for the ongoing leases. Should the unfortunate actually occur and Air Canada does enter into CCAA, well then at least the pilots have an asset that ensures wage concessions are not just flushed down the toilet. This model could work for all employee groups, and it would be better than just throwing away money. IMHO
Guest 6to8mos
This is not a junk airline. If we hold the dept we will remain solvent. We need breathing room to reorginize, lets buy RM some time.
Guest 6to8mos
Bonds now trading at 30c on the $, and 10.25% interest. ROI would be very high, this method of helping our company is profitable, albiet a bit risky.
