SAO PAULO, Brazil, Aug 19 (Reuters) - Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer said on Tuesday one of its seven EMBRAER 170 test models landed with its undercarriage up last weekend, putting the jet out of action for some weeks. The company, which is officially called Empresa Brasileira de Aeronautica, said the incident on Sunday was most probably caused by human error and would not delay the certification of the jet, which Embraer expects will come in November. The jet, which is designed to carry 70 people, damaged the engine nacelles and the lower aft fuselage in what Embraer called the "unintentional gear-up landing." The other six EMBRAER 170 planes remain in the development program, it said. Embraer last week posted a worse than expected 87 percent drop in second quarter net profit after its earnings were battered by the appreciation of Brazil's currency and depressed demand for aircraft.
