WestJet Revenue Passenger Miles Increase 35.2%

CALGARY, ALBERTA--WestJet announced its traffic statistics for

June 2003 today, featuring a 35.2% increase in revenue passenger

miles (RPMs) to 402,133,783, up from 297,506,966 in June 2002.

Year to date, RPMs have increased 44.0% to 2,071,672,898 from

1,438,195,140 in the first half of 2002.

Available seat miles (ASMs) grew 43.6% to 562,567,807 in June of

2003, up from 391,802,551 in June of 2002. Year to date, ASMs

have increased 53.3% to 3,080,555,017, up from 2,009,742,559 in

the same six-month period in 2002.

WestJet's load factor for June 2003 was 71.5% compared with 75.9%

in June of 2002. During the first six months of 2003, the

company's load factor was 67.2% compared with 71.6% during the

same period in 2002.

WestJet serves the 26 Canadian cities of Victoria, Comox,

Vancouver, Abbotsford/Fraser Valley, Prince George, Kelowna,

Calgary, Edmonton, Grande Prairie, Fort McMurray, Saskatoon,

Regina, Winnipeg, Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie, Thunder Bay, London,

Ottawa, Hamilton, Toronto, Moncton, Halifax, Windsor, Montreal,

Gander and St. John's. WestJet is publicly traded on the Toronto

Stock Exchange under the symbol WJA.
