Guest spoggers
I'm off to Europe, in August, for a few weeks and I'm thinking of going to Hungary for a few days - if it's worth it. Does anyone have any thoughts on this. Any hotel information would be much appreciated ! (Budapest)(sp?) Thanks for your time !
Databus
Sorry, no Hotel info, but definately a place worth visiting for a couple of days, especially around the center core. Lots of stuff to see and do! Best to use public so and avoid driving around...the driving is OK, but when you park for the night somewhere, your rental may be without some parts...! Public transit is awesome so and worry free. Have Fun!!
Guest dc9r2757
Just got back from a great weekend in Budapest. We stayed on the Buda side in a hotel called the ArtHotel. Great staff and a very cool place to stay. (lots of art hence the name) Right on the river with a great view of the Pest side to the south. The front desk staff suggested several tours, which were top notch. We did a 3 hr bus, city tour, an evening boat tour (take the first one at dusk) and a day country+ranch tour. Aprox 20, 20, 80 Euros. Only down side was most of the old buildings are not the originals but copies (they have had lots of wars therefore lots of damage) and most touristic stuff is closed on Mondays. Enjoy. Guest JV
The old man goes to the Gellert Hotel (on the Buda side) once a year or so. Seems to like it, sounds reasonable. They have a web site. Cheers
