.....missing the point when talking about salaries. Now without getting into a debate over what anyones' skills are worth, or how much time and money you put into training, or whether or not anyone is over or under paid, remember that it is simple economics. If your profession/trade/career/job has way more people looking for jobs than there are jobs available, salaries go down. On the other hand, if you and your particular skills are in short supply, your compensation will reflect that by going up.

Debating whether or not someone else deserves the compensation they get (whether actors, sports stars etc.) is a waste of time. It is irrelevant to your job and level of compensation. It all falls back to how many positions are there available relative to how many people want them.

One final point, please refrain from describing how "others" are lowering the bar, or ruining your industry / profession. Remember it's a living for them and supply vs demand for the company.
