CAW and Air Canada Reach a Tentative Deal TORONTO, May 26 /CNW/ - With Air Canada bordering on liquidation, the Canadian Auto Workers union and Air Canada reached a deal covering 7,000 members at 4:00 a.m., Monday May 26. The deal is another step for Air Canada in the restructuring of the national airline. The deal has not come without economic pain for the workers, their families and the communities they live in. CAW president Buzz Hargrove and Air Canada senior vice-president Calin Rovinescu will provide the details at a press conference today at 1:00 p.m. EST at the Toronto Hilton (University/ Richmond) in the Toronto 3 Room.
