British Airways World Cargo and Cargojet Announce Strategic Alliance in Canada

MISSISSAUGA, ON, May 5 /CNW/ - British Airways World Cargo and Cargojet

announced today they are entering into a strategic marketing and operational

alliance for the Canadian market, effective 15th May 2003.

Through this alliance Cargojet will provide sales, marketing and

operational support to British Airways World Cargo in Western and Atlantic

Canada. Cargojet will receive cargo sales, marketing and interline support

from British Airways World Cargo who currently serve nearly 200 destinations

in over 80 countries.

All British Airways World Cargo freight originating from, or destined to,

Western and Atlantic Canada will connect with Cargojet's premium domestic

overnight service flights. This partnership will enable both carriers to share

and benefit from each other's expertise in the marketplace.

Both organizations and their customers will now receive seamless air

cargo service on the combined British Airways World Cargo and Cargojet

networks. "Both companies will benefit mutually, as Cargojet can now support

British Airways World Cargo in servicing the Canadian marketplace," said Ajay

Virmani, President and CEO of the Cargojet Group of Companies.

Airways World Cargo has developed over the years in terms of sales and

marketing, cargo handling and information technology," added Jamie Porteous,

This in addition to the Air France Cargo contract signed last week, and the UPS contract for Canada has made this a great place to be.

Starting Mexico in the fall, and solid discussions of new aircraft types as well.
