Guest M. McRae
Travel insurers withdraw cover over SARS By Insurance Times Reporter Travel insurers have withdrawn cover for SARS for those travelling to infected areas. According to reports in The Guardian, insurers have placed an exclusion zone around Canada, Hong Kong and China. Travellers have been warned that they will not be covered for infection by SARS. In some cases, all insurance cover has been refused. Direct Line said it would not provide cover for SARS for those travelling to Canada. And American Express said it would not sell travel insurance to any destination where the Foreign Office has issued a warning. Anyone visiting these locations would have their policies invalidated. Insurers are also experiencing cancellation claims arising from SARS. But according to the ABI few policies are likely to provide cover for cancellation charges. http://www.instimes.co.uk/default.asp?nwid=25490

Guest dirtyredhat
Acutally, thinking about it, the 3 or 4 tourists we do get this summer won't have to worry about the miskeeters as they'll probably be sporting their "Canadian Travel Gear"...perhaps a Tilley Bio Suit (with the hat). Guest M. McRae
Impact will be great on the Yukon as a lot of their summer tourists arrive on Condor from Germany. Then of course there is the cruise ship business from Vancouver etc. etc. etc.
