APRIL 8, 2003 - 09:30 EST WestJet Revenue Passenger Miles Increase 49.4% CALGARY, ALBERTA--WestJet announced its traffic statistics for March 2003 today, featuring a 49.4% increase in revenue passenger miles (RPMs) to 355,123,617, up from 237,738,776 in March 2002. Year to date, RPMs have increased 50.0% to 956,818,002 from 637,925,377 in the same period in 2002. Available seat miles (ASMs) grew 58.2% to 531,401,099 in March of 2003, up from 335,960,929 in March of 2002. Year to date, ASMs have increased 58.8% to 1,484,616,524, up from 935,141,827 in the same three-month period in 2002. WestJet's load factor for March 2003 was 66.8% compared with 70.8% in March of 2002. During the first three months of 2003, the company's load factor was 64.4% compared with 68.2% during the same period in 2002. WestJet serves the 26 Canadian cities of Victoria, Comox, Vancouver, Abbotsford/Fraser Valley, Prince George, Kelowna, Calgary, Edmonton, Grande Prairie, Fort McMurray, Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg, Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie, Thunder Bay, London, Ottawa, Hamilton, Toronto, Moncton, Halifax, Windsor, Montreal (beginning April 24), St. John's (beginning June 16) and Gander (beginning June 17).
