Malcolm
Canadian charter airline Nolinor Aviation has reintroduced a Boeing 737-200 aircraft into its fleet, marking the first expansion of its Nordic division in three years. Nolinor's aircraft is a rare 737-200 variant equipped with the 'gravel kit', which includes a large deflector on the nose landing gear, and a probe in front of each engine intake which blows any FOD clear of the engine's path. Unfortunately, this system was never made available for later versions of the 737, so the 737-200 rules the roost in gravel runway operations in Canada's far North. The 737-200 received a 7-month renovation, representing an investment of $3 million, and is thus set to remain in service for many years to come.
