At this point I'm beginning to agree. There will be future opportunities and although the prospect of a $200,000 a year job will be gone along with a defined pension, that is gone already, people just can't see it. I wouldn't be too interested in putting my own money into an airline with a management structure like ours. In the words of U2, "Everything you know is wrong."

That's not meant as a stab against the individuals as I think they are generally good people. Simply that the structure and the style has been in place for so long that it is difficult for them to see it any other way. We need to inspire and empower people not oversee and scrutinize every move that people make.
