deicer Posted November 16, 2004 Share Posted November 16, 2004 Couple of years ago, I took the wife down and stayed at the Howard Johnson's by Pier 39. Called and they gave a great interline rate. Within walking distance of all the major sights, and if you want to get across town, only a couple blocks to the Cable Car turnaround. The best rate going in the heart of downtown is The Pickwick Hotel. The rate is $79 a night. It's an old building; however, all rooms were re-modelled within the last few years, and great amenities like free high-speed internet in each room and bath robes. Check out their website at www.thepickwickhotel.com. Another alternative is the Hilton SFO Towers "Edited by Admin", which is also pretty central to everything. The rate there is $95 a night.
