AC Pension Q.

I'm not an AC employee and I have a Q. about the pension fund. I've had it explained two different ways and I'm curious if anyone knows for sure. Is the pension fund considered an AC asset or is it seperate from the company and administered on behalf of the employees (ie. ON Teacher's fund)? Do all employees share the same fund or are there different provisions for the various groups?

there are 10 separate pension funds at ac, one for ac execs, one for ac pilots, one for the rest of ac, and seven that are canadian airlines funds. they are all separate and will always remain separate. they are underfunded at the moment (if you caculate the full forward looking deficit, i.e. paying out all the planned pensions) and the underfunding today is due to the stock market reductions in the past years. the pensions are separate from other assets.
