Cargo Agent
Clive says:"And now, having had a near-monopoly, they are running to the government. It's absolutely appalling. Mr. Collenette said the carrier had not yet asked Ottawa for help. Never the let truth get in the way of a good rant.
Guest b52er
I would like to ask you for your views on why Air Canada, IF it asks for government assistance in the form of a financial bailout, should receive it. If it asks for assistance in other forms, IE: reduced fuel taxes, security charge taxes airport rent, ect. should the other carriers be given the same breaks. IF they ask for money, do you think the other carriers should also be given the same aid porpotionaltely?
Cargo Agent
My opinion is that the gov't should reduce fuel taxes and airport fee's for all the airlines. I don't see the gov't giving AC any money, not without CCAA and major pain for the employee's. If it does aid AC, then all airlines should be given aid commiserate with thier size. My post was not meant as a slight at WJ employee's, just pointing out that Clive doesn't let the truth get in the way of a media oppurtunity. Guest terrier
Actually in the last paragraph of the first article Mr. Milton says "we intend to stay ahead of the curve and lead this change with the collaboration of our employees and their unions, government and our industry partners" Sounds like he thinks he's got it all tied up. Guest b52er
I don't know of any airline executive that doesn't take advantage of a media opportunity. Your views appears to be fair. Thanks for the response
Guest WA777
When WJ becomes an international carrier flying all of North America, the Atlantic, the Pacific and South he will earn the right to criticize...in the meantime his remarks are irrelevant..... Guest b52er
I would say that the airline that is causing AC a great portion of its current grief, has every right to criticize. So......if you chose to consider his or any other remarks irrelevant, then you deserve what you have coming to you.
Guest braniff
Have a peek at the may issue of AIRWAYS magazine.... Seems that Clive's mouth is getting him noticed!! Not very flattering.
Guest b52er
Sorry but I don't subscribe. I went to the website but only a headline was available. Could you elaborate on what the article discussed?
