Gentlemen,

All this talk about winning and losing. One day you will realize that much more is at stake. Remember, all members of the AC family read this forum. Congrats, aclpa and km, you are permanent residents in my IGNORE box.

Maybe I let the stress and emotion of the last few days get the better of me. However, by stirring the pot some interesting info has come out. Wouldn't it be nice if the next time we walked throught the terminal and saw some felow AC/Jazz pilots that we wouldn't have to squint to try and read what their hat said. Both groups are the same, with the same common interests and goals. One set of airplanes, one airline, one list. Date of hire.

date of hire: are you kidding? the cdn guys didn't even get close to that, what makes you think that jazz could possibly attain such a lofty goal?

lol

squiting to read the hat is a sign of immaturity... don't let it bother you.

one list is a lofty goal at best, everyone thinks that they have something to lose.

date of hire... didn't work for Cdn, won't ever work at AC for anyone else. Now maybe if WestJet bought out AC....

The reason why it hasn't worked is because the airline pilots of Canada have been fractured into cannibalistic tribes over the last 23 years. It is our own lack of unity that has allowed the work to be devalued and the stress and politics of one of the best jobs in the world to get the better of it.

..and yet Jazz-ALPA, in the ultimate hypocracy, attempts to pull flying from AC and bids to get the T3 flying!!!!

I agree with you 100% but the current situations shows, quite nicely, that the cut throat mentality will never disappear.

I have no problem with the concept at all...

But in the case of pilots, I've come to understand that it's not a simple matter... Even many of the ex-blue types have long ago accepted that DoH wouldn't fly.

In our case, the first merger was a dovetail, DoH... The second was badly messed - by an arbitrator who had too much on his plate and had no clue what he'd done to us - and saw many of us end-tailed, myself included. (for all things except lay-off and vacation selection which did remain as DoH)
