Guest Labtec
I don't think we are out of the woods just yet. Scope is intact and we keep the CL65's for another 2 1/2 years. That's an eternity in this business. The problem though is that this new plan just doens't seem to compute. Point to point with the CL65? This is our vision of the future? It has been argued that we need to be lo-cost. The successful lo-cost airlines operate point to point with a single fleet type WJ and SW use the 737 and JB uses the 320. If that is the new model that is required for success what the hell is Milton doing? Who is the connector for JB? WJ? SW? They don't have one. What does this new model need JAZZ for? Why do we need 1900's, DH8's, CL65's, 146's, 319, 320, 321's, 737's, 767's 330's, 340's, and 747's. That's 12 types (you could group the small bus as a single and get it down to 9). If we truly want to be lo-cost we need the small bus domestically and the big bus and probably the flexibility of the 767 for our international ops. My prediction: We'll be back in this same scenario in a little while. I have to hand it to Clive he has to be laughing his a$$ off right now. These guys in YUL just don't get it. IF the model isn't broken and this was all just a bunch of bull$hit then ACPA and ALPA better smarten up and get together ASAP. LABTEC
Guest easyjazz
For once I totally agree with you Labtec. We need to solve the riddle; not pit one another against each other. It appears the company is not our friend..goading us into a bidding war. Let's do the smart thing and unite, put this dark evolution to rest. Anyone think it can be done? I do! Guest rance
For the common good of all it should be done. This could only be another bitter chapter of a very long book. I would assume the cdn ac senority issue would have to be solved before throwing another 1400 names into the mix. I would like to think that the next couple of years will be much better. The iraq war is over, hopefully sars will be eliminated or contained, the us economy will pick up,maybe the gov't will relax some taxes and we could all be one powerful group posed for some growth. Always cyclical and hopefully we've bottomed out.

Guest rance
Has anyone with acpa ever tried to make an offer to the AO pilots whos careers were affected by acpa walking away from binding arbitration? I mean that as a legitimate question as i'm not involved with all the details.
MCDU
It'll never get done if you guys think someone owes you something.
Guest easyjazz
Simple enough. Put the lawsuite on the table with all the other goodies and come up with a plan to merge the two parties. I don't want to oversimplify the issue but there are many ways to work the two groups to protect turf and more importantly stop the whipsaw effect. The model is broken guys lets fix it by thinking outside our restrictive box's.
Maranatha
Did somebody mention B717's, a la AirTran? That's the scoop I've been hearing.
